Interpretive Master Plan; Exhibit and Graphic Design, Fabrication and Installation
Originally known as Camp Sagawau Nature Center, this teacher-training facility was selected by the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Illinois to receive a brand new building on its original site. Our office was chosen to tell the story of the original 160-year-old building and its unique site in the new building. Inspired by Sagawau’s veteran crew of passionate naturalists and the site’s dolomite prairie, canyon, WPA limestone quarry, 500-year-old Bur Oaks and idiosyncratic history, we created exhibits, graphics, a large-scale annotated site model and a theater to celebrate this venerable facility.
