We were hired to design the exhibits in a new, 10,000 square-foot Visitor Center at the Navy’s Great Lakes Naval Training Station. To build an understanding of the rigorous, nine-week training program all new recruits must pass through before graduating, we designed life-sized, interactive video stations to create the feeling of being guided through the training process by members of the graduating class. And to create an immersive experience, the visitor path wound through over-sized equipment and images, soundscapes and dioramas before exiting into the Graduation Hall beneath the floor-to-ceiling hulls of two Naval cruisers.
